School Lettings Solutions (SLS), one of the fastest growing sports and leisure companies in the UK, has acquired Derbyshire-based lettings provider, Facilities For All, to provide greater support to schools looking to make better use of their facilities.
Facilities for All currently manages the facilities at 11 schools in Halifax and Derbyshire, including Halifax Academy, Long Eaton School and Netherthorpe School.
The deal will see Facilities For All partner with SLS so greater support and more extensive resources can be provided to the schools. This includes a fully managed service to manage bookings and oversee the facilities to ensure rooms are secure and well maintained, ready for the next school day.
All schools will be provided with marketing support to maximise promotion of their facilities to local community groups, along with a dedicated HR team. They will also benefit from a national partnership programme that will help pair them up with local groups looking to access facilities, helping to increase income and community engagement from day one.
As part of the acquisition founder of Facilities For All, Darren Norwood, will join the senior management team at SLS as regional manager to ensure a smooth transition for his partnership schools and staff members.
All 30 employees at Facilties For All will work under the SLS brand, combining site management skills and expertise to further strengthen the innovative school lettings proposition.
The partnership will boost opportunities for local community groups in the region, from sports clubs to theatre schools, to access quality spaces in their area.
It will also help schools in the area generate additional sources of income, at a time when budgets are coming under increased pressure.
The investment move comes following a strong period of growth at SLS and forms part of the company’s strategy to become the largest lettings provider in the UK. It currently works with over 150 schools nationwide.
With eyes on reaching the 200 school sites milestone by summer 2018, the company has ambitious plans to expand the business beyond its head-quarters in Bolton.
SLS partners with schools, academies and colleges to fully manage their facilities at zero cost to the organisations, while linking them with local community groups in need of affordable space.
