Downsbrook Primary School has welcomed a new Head of School to its senior leadership team. Ms Just Jeffrey took up her post at the school earlier this month, and will work alongside the Schoolsworks team to lead the 52 staff and over 300 pupils.

Ms Jeffrey was previously Deputy Head for Assessment and Curriculum at Ilderton Primary School in the London borough of Southwark. Ilderton was rated Outstanding by Ofsted in 2015.

Chris Seaton, CEO of Schoolsworks says, "We are very excited to welcome Just, and the Schoolsworks Academy Trust. Just made a strong, positive impression in her interview with the school's children and staff alike, and her work as Deputy Head in an outstanding school gives her a purposeful vision when it comes to Downsbrook's future. Just clearly demonstrated her commitment to excellence, drive and focus, and we look forward working together with her to shape the next phase for Downsbrook and its children."New Head Joins Downsbrook Primary School

Just Jeffrey, Head of School adds, ""I am delighted to be joining Downsbrook at this exciting time and am very much looking forward to working in partnership with the whole school community to make Downsbrook the school of choice in the local area. Having worked in several London schools with a specific focus on school improvement, I am determined to ensure that Downsbrook moves to become an outstanding school where we deliver educational excellence every day, for every child. We will be working very hard to become a more outward facing school and will be forging opportunities to work more closely with the wider community to strengthen and enhance all aspects of learning: academic, social and emotional."

As well as welcoming a new Head of School, Downbrook's senior leadership team has also been strengthened with three appointments. Carina Reid, Kirsty Price and Amy Neale have taken up posts as Assistant Heads from September 2018 to support Just as the school moves forward.
