Last Friday (23 February), national training provider BB Training Academy was presented with the Apprenticeship Programme of the Year Award at the esteemed Tes FE Awards, in recognition of the provider’s Ofsted outstanding rated courses.
Held at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel in London, the Tes FE Awards recognises the training providers and colleges that deliver courses which engage with learners and offer them the best chance to develop and succeed in their chosen careers.
BB Training Academy deliver apprenticeships and training courses to 2,300 learners across the UK. The programmes cover training for the wider care sector including childcare, residential childcare and health and social care as well as training for support functions such as management, admin and catering. Regulatory and upskill training is also delivered, including fire safety, first aid and manual handling.
Partnering and holding events with organisations such as the Job Centre, the Prince’s Trust, Sport 4 Life and community outreach services, BB Training Academy aims to give long-term unemployed young people a clear career path to a bright future. In 2017, the training provider achieved an 89 per cent success rate for all apprenticeship programmes, compared with a UK average of 65 per cent.
Commenting on why BB Training Academy was awarded the title of Apprenticeship Programme of the BB Training AcademyYear, the judges said: “What are particularly impressive are the pathways this scheme offers all the way to level 6, in an industry that has traditionally not operated at that level. It is really meeting the needs of the sector and is also supporting other nurseries.”
CEO of BB Training Academy, Fay Gibbin, said: “The Tes FE Apprenticeship Programme of the Year Award is a fantastic way of recognising our dedicated team of trainers, who work hard to deliver the best training and support to our learners and who genuinely care about helping them to achieve their potential.
“We aim to deliver training that uses the most up-to-date methods and techniques to bring the best out of each individual. It’s great that this has been recognised by the Tes, and we hope it helps to inspire our learners and reinforce the fact that they are receiving the very best training possible.”
The award continues BB Training Academy’s run of success, as it was awarded an outstanding Ofsted grade across the board in March 2017 and in January this year was named in the Centrica Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers.
