Leading school website provider, Green Schools Online, are launching a new standalone version of their popular school mobile app for parents.

The app, which is free for parents to download, keeps parents up to date with key information as well as enabling the school to send unlimited push notifications straight to parents' phones.

“We've had lots of positive feedback on the App, it is the best way to reach parents and get messages home quickly” said Sharon Sullivan of Milford Junior School in Somerset, “and most importantly, it’s so simple to use.”

Parents can view information such as school news, dates, newsletters, letters home and photo galleries. They can subscribe to notification groups to receive alerts on topics relevant to them such as updates from their child’s class or urgent school news.  Mrs Sullivan explained how the app came into its own during a recent Milford Juniors School trip; “we had many positive responses to the push notification system on the app regarding keeping parents informed whilst their children were away. This is definitely the way forward to communicate with parents.”

Schools have complete control over the content of the app which is managed through an easy to use, web based content editor. “Our apps were so popular with the schools we work with, we developed a special version of our content editor so that any school can benefit from our apps” said Graham Miles, Technical Director. “The best part is that such close integration means that we can also provide unlimited support to schools from our friendly team here in Greenwich.”

Green Schools Online provide websites to over 1,000 schools across the UK and developed the app in response to schools increasing need to inform and engage parents. In the last two years alone they've built over 100 school mobile apps.

The Green Schools Online app is available for both Android and iPhones. Schools can commission their own school app by contacting Green Schools Online via  www.schoolapps.website or calling them on 0800 955 3999.
