EMPLOYEE morale doesn’t just promote loyalty but it can actually improve how effective and productive employees are in their role, according to the new The 2018 Happiness Survey.

A survey of 1,024 UK workers, by workplace incentives and rewards provider, One4all Rewards, and published in The 2018 Happiness Survey, asked employees from different age groups, genders and industries about the impact their happiness at work has on their productivity, revealing that 43% of workers in the education sector would work harder if they are happy in their current role or place of work.

When your schools’ computer systems operate on both Macs and PCs, IT management can be an issue.

London-based Haberdashers’ Aske's Federation needed a solution to optimise the IT management of all desktop computers in order to enable asset management, software distribution, remote maintenance, license monitoring and reporting in the same way for both Windows and Mac computers from one centralised point of control.

Thanks to Parallels Mac Management, Haberdashers’ IT teams can now monitor the entire Mac Hardware and Software inventory.

A new local artistic landmark is due to be created in Cradley Heath through a partnership between Halesowen College and A Perry & Co (Hinges) Ltd, a leading manufacturer and supplier of hinges, hardware, ironmongery, chain and threaded bar, which has been based in the West Midlands for the past 93 years.

The independent, family-owned company has offered the opportunity of designing a representative sculpture of its business to second year students at Halesowen College, supporting them in achieving their final diploma assignment.

Qualified Schools has launched the Teaching Apprenticeship Programme (TAP) to help schools recruit, train and retain the best graduates into teaching roles. The TAP handle the whole process, from sourcing, screening and recruiting graduates for shortage subjects (including STEM), supporting schools to access available apprenticeship levy funding and delivering a 1 year programme which guides apprentices towards Qualified Teacher Status.

Amanda Webb, Strategic Relationship Director (Education) from Affinity Workforce, talks to QA Education about the skills shortage within teaching and how to get a better visibility and understanding of staff:

Over 700 Shaw Education Trust staff attended a wellbeing-themed activity day to promote healthy lifestyles and reduce stress levels.

While high workloads and stress continue to fuel the teacher recruitment and retention crisis, Trust staff were invited to combat issues by developing team work, learning self-care techniques and being recognised for their hard work.

Addressing employees, Jo Morgan, Chief Executive of the Trust, said:

TI is doing this by investing in education initiatives and areas that help both teachers and students alike love, understand and apply STEM subjects toward real-world issues. Worldwide, TI encourages the use of TI’s technology that helps teachers teach and students learn. It is TI’s belief that fun, interactive learning tools and resources nurture natural curiosity in how and why things work, inspiring future engineers, and even tomorrow’s scientists, mathematicians, doctors and teachers.
